The anniversary edition of the Mysteries of the Krestovaya Mountain open-air festival started in the Perm Territory

On June 26 in Gubakha, the audience of the 10th Mysteries of the Krestovaya Mountain open-air theater festival enjoyed the Ballet at Sunset. Artists of the Piotr Chaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theater, Perm performed the items most popular with the audience. The open-air gala was opened with Polovtsian Dances, an item of the second act of Borodin’s opera Prince Igor, one of the favorites with so many art lovers.

Another masterpiece of the world art heritage — Specter of the Rose to von Weber music, first staged by Mikhail Fokine for Sergei Diaghilev’s Russian Ballet seasons — and the iconic The Dying Swan solo dance, first performed by the famous ballerina Anna Pavlova in 1908, were a special treat to the Festival guests. In the second act, the organizers presented The Polish Ball — the Theater’s latest ballet production and one of the classical pieces of the early 20th century, a fragment from the second act of A Life for the Tsar opera by Mikhail Glinka.

Governor of the Perm Territory Dmitry Makhonin was among the audience as he was on a working trip to Gubakha that day. He personally made sure that the strict safety measures imposed by the Coronavirus Response Team were adhered to by the Festival organizers.

Thus, each Festival guest had to produce a negative coronavirus PCR test at the entrance; such test might not be older than three days at the day of performance. Otherwise, a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 had to be produced. Another condition for the Festival attendance was wearing personal protective equipment. Head of the region, as well as other guests complied with the existing requirements.

It has be noted that, having taken into consideration the costly precaution measures imposed on the the Festival guests, the ticket price for the Ballet at Sunset performance was set at a token amount of 1 ruble.

We must remind that, as the tradition goes, this year the Festival was organized through the efforts of PJSC Metafrax and its owner Seyfeddin Rustamov and with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Perm Territory. The Festival organizer is the Project Implementation Center.
